PLANKING is the hottest new trend in grilling. Northeast Grilling Woods are freshly cut from trees in the most flavorful direction and add a delicious essence to your meats, fish, vegetables and baked goods without adding calories or fat. Instructions are simple: Soak your chips or chunks in water for up to an hour before grilling. On a charcoal grill, chips and chunks can be placed directly on coals before cooking. You can also use a gas grill and place a metal chip box under your meat. Planks should be soaked for up to two hours then lightly brushed with olive oil before laying meat upon them. Make sure you cover all of your food with a lid to aid the smoking. As the natural oils from our woods release into the meat or fish, each flavor of plank will add a unique subtle flavor. Flavors include Wild Apple, Down East Hickory, Black Cherry, Golden Birch, Sugar Maple, Northern Beechnut, Mountain Mesquite, Acadian Oak, Northern White Cedar and Northern Olive.
